Black Albion

These were originally intended as song lyrics - to a tune I've long since forgotten.

Two long years staring at the asphalt
Reading gravel like constellations
Techtonic Teeth, Jurrassic Heartblood
Bloom & Bust like civilizations

The tarred lung holds the old bones tight
They wait politely for the v8 Bite
And not once could we yawn
Our jaws cracked with practise
Too many lines drawn in the sand
Too many hearts steam rolled by man

Never been so bored
Never been so excited
Taught the gutters to sing
The Streetlights were delighted.

Black veins round road rash nerves
A sparrows claw – tarred ovefr gorgotten
Chain Crackers – Crude Tankers
Help refine Charlie Darwin’s selection
Laid low between the sun and core
The prehesitoric driver of desert wars

Cooled down for speed – a growing need
Warms the passion for Armageddon.
Cozy Terror for neural loads
Sparked and flashed down fibre nodes

Never Been So Bored
Never Been So Excited
Taught the Streetlights to Sing
The gutters were Delighted

Carry on, Albion.
